BEING TAKEN TO THIS SPACE STATION IS
TO UNDERGO NUMEROUS TESTS SO THAT THE
RESEARCHERS, AS WELL AS YOU, CAN BETTER
UNDERSTAND THE MENTAL ABILITIES WHICH
YOU POSSESS.
╘HE ╨SIONICS GAME SYSTEM IS
UNIQUE, HOWEVER, YOU'LL NOTICE MANY
SIMULARITIES TO OTHER GAME SYSTEMS.
╘HERE ARE SO MANY SYSTEMS AROUND THAT
IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO COME UP
WITH ANYTHING THAT ISN'T USED IN AN
OFFICIAL GAME SYSTEM ALREADY!
├HARACTER ╟ENERATION

╘HE FIRST THING YOU WILL NEED TO
DO IS CREATE A CHARACTER. ╙INCE THIS
IS A SINGLE CHARACTER GAME, YOU WILL
NEED TO DO THIS ONLY ONCE BEFORE
PLAYING.
┴FTER THE GAME HAS LOADED, YOU
WILL BE ASKED IF YOU WISH TO LOAD A
SAVED GAME. ╙INCE YOU ARE JUST
BEGINING, TYPE "╬". ┘OU WILL THEN BE
BROUGHT TO THE CHARACTER GENERATION
SCREEN.
┘OU ARE GIVEN THREE BASIC
ATTRIBUTES, EACH HAVE AN EFFECT ON
HOW WELL YOUR CHARACTER DOES IN COMBAT.
╘HEY ARE:
╙TRENGTH - ┘OUR OVERALL EFFECTIVENESS
IN COMBAT.
╔NTELLIGENCE - ╚OW MANY ADDITIONAL
╨╙╔ POINTS YOU WILL
BE GIVEN.
┴GILITY - ┴FFECTS YOUR ─EFENSE RATING.
┼ACH OF THE ABOVE WILL HAVE A
NUMBER RANGING FROM 1 TO 10. ─ISPLAYED
BELOW THE ATTRIBUTES ARE YOUR
╨SYCHIC ╙TRENGTH(╨╙╔ POINTS) AND
─EFENSE STATISTICS. ╘HESE ARE AFFECTED
BY YOUR ╔NTELLIGENCE AND ┴GILITY
SCORES. ╬OTE THAT YOUR ╨SYCIC ╙TRENGTH
GOES NO LOWER THAN A 1. (┘OUR CHARACTER

┘OU WILL THEN BE ASKED FOR THE
GENDER OF YOUR CHARACTER. ┘OUR
CHARACTER'S SEX HAS ABSOLUTELY NO
AFFECT ON THE GAME OTHER THAN TO HELP
PERSONALIZE YOUR CHARACTER.
┴FTER YOU'VE SELECTED THE GENDER,
THE GAME WILL LOAD INTO MEMORY EIGHT
CHARACTER PORTRAITS. ─EPENDING ON YOUR
CHARACTER'S SEX, THE EIGHT PORTRAITS
YOU WILL BE ABLE TO CHOOSE FROM WILL
EITHER BE MALE OF FEMALE. ╘YPE THE
NUMBER OF THE PORTRAIT YOU'D LIKE YOUR
CHARACTER TO HAVE.
╠ASTLY, YOU WILL BE PROMPTED TO
GIVE YOUR CHARACTER A NAME. ╘YPE YOUR
CHARACTER'S NAME OUT AND PRESS RETURN.
╘HEN YOU ARE ALL SET TO GO!

╘HE GAME SCREEN IS SET UP INTO
THREE PARTS. ╘HE UPPER LEFT AREA OF
THE SCREEN DISPLAYS A 3-DIMENSIONAL
VIEW OF THE SPACE STATION. ╘HE UPPER
RIGHT "PANEL" IS THE MESSAGE AREA.
╘HE LARGE "PANEL" BELOW THE ABOVE TWO
IS YOUR CHARACTER INFORMATION AREA.
╬OTE THAT WHEN YOU TRAVEL THROUGH
DOORWAYS, YOU ACTUALLY STEP INTO THE
DOORWAY ITSELF, RATHER THAN "APPEAR"
ON THE OTHER SIDE, AS IN MANY 3-─
GAMES. ╙O, WHEN YOU STAND BEFORE A
DOOR AND MOVE FORWARD, YOU WILL BE IN
THE DOOR SPACE. ═OVE ANOTHER STEP
FOWARD AND TURN AROUND. ┘OU WILL THEN
SEE THE DOOR THAT YOU STEPPED THROUGH.
╘HEREFORE, YOU ARE NOT "OFFICIALLY" IN
A ROOM OR HALLWAY UNTIL YOU STEP OUT
OF THE DOORWAY, OR DOOR SPACE, AS YOU
COULD CALL IT.
╘HE UPPER RIGHT PANEL IS USED FOR
NUMEROUS THINGS. ╞ROM GIVING A
DISCRIPTION OF AN AREA, TO CHOOSING
YES OR NO ON PICKING SOMETHING UP, TO
SELECTING YOUR ACTIONS IN COMBAT. ╘HIS
AREA ALSO DISPLAYS A TYPE OF POINTER
IN ITS LOWER LEFT CORNER. ╘HIS POINTER
ACTS AS A COMPASS TO TELL YOU IN WHICH
DIRECTION YOU ARE MOVING.
╘HE LARGE BOTTOM PANEL REVEALS
YOUR CHARACTER'S PORTRAIT AND
STATISTICS. ╙OME ADDITIONAL STATISTICS
SHOWN ARE YOUR CHARACTER'S CURRENT AND
MAXIMUM ╚ITS(OR MORE PRECISELY, HIT
POINTS). ╘HE NUMBER ON THE LEFT OF THE

╬OTHING WILL OCCUR WHEN YOU TYPE
"┴" UNLESS YOU HAVE ACHIEVED ENOUGH
EXPERIENCE TO OBTAIN A HIGHER LEVEL.
╫HEN YOU TYPE "╙" TO SAVE YOUR GAME,
YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CONFIRM IT BY
TYPING, "┘", FOR YES, OR "╬", FOR NO.
╫HEN YOU SAVE YOUR GAME, ALL OF YOUR
CHARACTER'S STATISTICS, LOCATION,
EVENTS THAT HAVE AND HAVE NOT YET BEEN
AFFECTED, ETC, ARE RECORDED.
╫HEN SAVING YOUR GAME, KEEP THE
FOLLOWING IN MIND:
- ═AKE SURE YOU SAVE YOUR GAME ON THE
SAME DISK THAT THE GAME PROGRAM IS
ON.
- ┼ACH TIME YOU SAVE YOUR GAME, YOUR
PREVIOUS SAVED GAME IS OVERWRITTEN
AND REPLACED WITH YOUR NEW SAVED
POSSITION.
